For the past six years there has been a tradition of having a Thanksgiving celebration among friends the Saturday before Thanksgiving. Chris started this tradition the year Old School was the popular movie. He and his friends found the movie hilarious especially the line, "Your my boy Blu!" So when they had to come up with a team name it of course was Blu and it was that year that he decided to have Thanksgiving among friends. The meal became known as Blugiving and it has been that way ever since. It is definitley an odd name to an outsider but it all makes sense to those who were there for its creation.
I didn't come into the picture until Blugiving II and here we are now at Blugiving VI! We actually were not planning on having Blugiving this year because it had gotten so big that we thought it would be too much to deal with on top of having Grady around. Friends however would not allow us to skip it so it was sort of last minute and we kept it on a smaller scale. I am so glad we got talked into having blugiving because it turned out to be such a wonderful evening! I just love having a nice meal, wine, and the company of friends. This may sound cheesy but it really makes me reflect and be thankful for the people who surround us. I woke up the next morning full of happiness because I realized how much I love our friends. They are just like family in that we are dsyfunctional at times but when it comes down to it I would not trade them in for anyone else.
Anyhow this was Grady's first Blugiving! Unfortunatley he was not at his best because he has started teething. He was very fussy but I think for the most part he did all right. I felt bad for friends who thought they were the ones making him cry. Had I known it was teething earlier I would have given him some Tylenol, oh well. Also this was Grady's introduction to "ugly face". "Ugly face" is a silly game we play where at any moment someone can turn to you and say, "ugly face" and you have to make your ugliest face on the spot. Sometimes the hands get involved. For one of the group pictures right before the camera flashed Chris yelled, "ugly face!" In fact he yeld so loud it scared poor little Grady. It resulted in Grady making his first ugly face. It was so sad yet hysterical at the same time. Take a close look at the ugly face picture and you will see Grady's startled and scared little ugly face.

Thanks again so much for hosting this year. I always have such a great time at Blugiving and I'm so blessed to have great friends like you. It's such a great tradition and it truly does feel like family with all of us together! :) Grady was a trooper and his first ugly face is classic! He fits right in!
